ImageTool is a free browser-based utility for preparing an image to the file requirements you enter.

Use images you may process

Use the tool only with images you are entitled to use. Selecting or processing an image does not transfer ownership of it to ImageTool. The tool does not publish your images.

What the checks mean

A passing result means the generated JPEG meets the file-size and pixel rules entered into this tool. It does not confirm that those rules match a destination’s current requirements. ImageTool is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an acceptance service for any application portal.

Check the destination’s format, background, content and capture requirements yourself. Do not use a compressed result when loss of detail would make a document, signature or other important information unreadable.

Compression changes images

JPEG compression can remove detail. The tool may reduce dimensions when they are not fixed, add white space or crop according to your selected setting, and replace transparent areas with white. Re-encoded files may lose metadata. A request that cannot be satisfied within the tool’s processing limits returns an error instead of a guaranteed output.

Keep your original image. Review the full-size output and confirm the downloaded file before relying on it.

Supported use and availability

The current tool processes a single JPG or PNG, up to 40 MB and 32 megapixels, subject to browser and device limits. It requires JavaScript and a browser that supports the required image APIs. Processing speed, available memory and saving steps vary between devices. The service and its features may change; uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.

Privacy and analytics

Images are processed locally in the browser. The live website loads Google Analytics by default, without an on-site consent gate or analytics settings.
